Is this tour right for you?

Choose Day Trip with Guide and Tickets from Bar Kontatto. It suits you if you want both visits arranged. Allow 8 hours for the trip from Sorrento and back.

You get 2 guided hours in Pompeii. The next stop is Vesuvius with an alpine guide. Both entry tickets are included; lunch and drinks cost extra.

The Pompeii ticket type isn't named, so check villa access. Traffic can change your return time. A weather closure at Vesuvius brings a partial refund.

What I'd do: choose Day Trip with Guide and Tickets from Bar Kontatto and arrange lunch separately.

Chiara VitaleWrites pompeii.day

I grew up in Castellammare di Stabia, under the volcano, and spent six seasons on hotel front desks in Sorrento. Which ticket, which train, which gate, how many hours: I've answered these more times than I can count.

Now I live in Pompei, ten minutes on foot from the Amphitheatre gate, and I go into the site most weeks on a MyPompeii card. For this page I compared the options and booking terms with the park's rules. I haven't taken this trip. Report a correction.
