Which Pompeii ticket do I need?
€20 is the city only. €25 adds the Villa of the Mysteries. €30 Pompeii Plus adds Oplontis and Stabiae over three days. All named, 20,000 a day.
Pompeii or Herculaneum?
Pompeii if it's your one day near Naples; Herculaneum if you have two hours or have seen Pompeii. Same train line; both in a day if you start early.
How long do you need in Pompeii?
The park says a minimum of 2 to 3 hours. Two covers the Forum and the houses around it; four covers both ends; a day adds the villa.
Can I visit Pompeii without a guide?
Yes: the park's free map with three paths, audio guides at the gates from €9, the park's own 1.5-hour tours for €8, or a licensed guide at Porta Marina until 14:00.
Can I visit Pompeii and Vesuvius in one day?
Yes, if your crater slot and transport leave time for both. The crater's last entry is 15:00 to 18:00 by month; Pompeii admits until 17:30 in summer.
