Is this tour right for you?

Choose Pompeii & Amalfi Group Tour for the 3-hour archaeologist walk. You'll have up to 18 people with your guide. Transport can combine two groups, carrying up to 36 people.

Your price includes city entry and return transport. You'll spend about 8 hours on the road, including the coastal drive. Lunch and hotel transfers aren't included.

Your coastal stop is Positano from April through October. From November through March, you visit Sorrento instead, with about 2 hours free at either stop. Your city ticket excludes the Villa of the Mysteries.

What I'd do: I'd book an April through October date if Positano were the reason for adding the coast.

I grew up in Castellammare di Stabia, under the volcano, and spent six seasons on hotel front desks in Sorrento. Which ticket, which train, which gate, how many hours: I've answered these more times than I can count.

Now I live in Pompei, ten minutes on foot from the Amphitheatre gate, and I go into the site most weeks on a MyPompeii card. For this page I compared the options and booking terms with the park's rules. I haven't taken this trip. Report a correction.
