Is this tour right for you?

Choose this to visit Naples as well as Pompeii. Your Pompeii walk lasts 2 hours with a guide. Later you'll have a guided visit in Naples and an hour on your own.

Your train reaches Naples; a coach continues to Pompeii. Pizza lunch follows Pompeii, before the return to Naples. Pompeii entry and return transport are included; entry inside Naples monuments costs extra.

Allow 11.5 hours for the day, with plenty of walking. The included Pompeii ticket type isn't named. Check Villa of the Mysteries access before booking if it's central to your visit.

What I'd do: I'd keep the free hour in Naples for a walk and a cafe stop.

Chiara VitaleWrites pompeii.day

I grew up in Castellammare di Stabia, under the volcano, and spent six seasons on hotel front desks in Sorrento. Which ticket, which train, which gate, how many hours: I've answered these more times than I can count.

Now I live in Pompei, ten minutes on foot from the Amphitheatre gate, and I go into the site most weeks on a MyPompeii card. For this page I compared the options and booking terms with the park's rules. I haven't taken this trip. Report a correction.
